AN Israeli delegation will be visiting the island next week to discuss with their Cypriot counterparts the matter concerning the extension of the Aphrodite gas field into Israeli waters. Israel’s energy minister Yuval Steinitz confirmed the visit while speaking at an oil and gas conference in Tel Aviv (UOG 2015).

Momentum is building for increased partnership between Israel and oil and gas companies in Texas, said an official from America’s Lone Star State. “We’re trying to get Texas companies interested in the oil and gas opportunities here in Israel — not just the major E&P (exploration and production) companies, but all the supporting companies, all the services it takes to run an oil and gas industry,” Clare Freeman, president and CEO of the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce, told the Jerusalem Post on Tuesday at the Universal Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition in Tel Aviv.

Minister of National Infrastructures, Energy and Water Resources Yuval Steinitz plans reopening Israel’s exclusive economic zone in the Mediterranean for oil and gas exploration. Speaking at the Universal Oil and Gas Conference in Tel Aviv yesterday, Steinitz said, “Exploration has only been carried out in 25% of Israel exclusive economic waters. The gas outline agreement will be approved in mid-December and will go into effect at the start of 2016. Then several months after that, I have already given instructions to open up the waters.”

Bringing an end to a nearly yearlong freeze in the natural gas sector, the country’s disputed natural gas compromise outline will be fully implemented by the new year, National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Minister Yuval Steinitz said Tuesday. These consultations will take place over the coming weeks, and should not require more than a few meetings, Steinitz confirmed Tuesday, during his address at the Universal Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition in Tel Aviv.

Israel plans to open up more of its offshore territory to explorers when its new gas regulatory framework comes into effect at the start of next year, according to Yuval Steinitz, the minister of national infrastructure, energy and water resources.

Steinitz told the Universal Oil and Gas conference in Tel Aviv on Tuesday by announcing that he had already instructed his ministry to open up the country’s exclusive economic zone for new exploration.
